January's challenge proved to be an interesting one. Entitled "Do You See What I See?", our challenge was to pick a photo from a total of ten photos that we submitted to the group. The photos submitted should have had interesting areas in the composition. We could do a painting approximately 8 x 10 of the winning photo. The winner was a photo of Swift Current with its autumn colours. Several of us picked a section of the photo to paint, while others painted the more expansive composition. After the paintings were completed, we met for a critique and general discussion of the challenge. Thanks Pat for an interesting exercise. Our next challenge is to interpret the poem "Snowflakes" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
Here are the paintings we completed for the challenge.
